Call for Papers
DEADLINE FOR PROPOSALS: November 15, 2009
Proposals are encouraged from all academic disciplines related to play and from play practitioners, play advocates, undergraduate researchers, and graduate students.
Presentations will be organized according to three tracks: play advocacy; play practice; and play research.
All proposals will be reviewed and must include: the accompanying cover sheet and a 150-word abstract describing the proposed presentation. Proposals submitted after November 15 will be considered only if space on the conference program is available.
Acceptable formats include: individual papers; workshops; roundtables; and posters.
- Individual Papers – Sessions will be arranged by research themes and comprise four related papers within a 90-minute time slot.
- Workshops – These 90-minutes sessions will focus on current issues of play centered on practice.
- Roundtables – Sessions will include informal presentations of student research, research in progress, pilot studies, and play-oriented programs. Presenters will discuss their research with small groups of interested participants for three 20-minutes time slots.
- Posters – Participants wishing to share their work in a visual medium may submit posters presenting new research and scholarly work. The sessions will be 60 minutes in length and provide opportunities for presenters to discuss their work informally with participants.
